The Kasambahay Law otherwise known as Republic Act No. 10361 was signed into law by Pres. Benigno Aquino, Jr. on January 18, 2013. It took effect on June 4, 2013. The law seeks to regulate domestic work and establish standards of protection for the welfare of domestic workers. Basically, it entitles house helpers to benefits such as a set minimum wage, work leaves with pay, 13th month pay, paid day-offs, enrollment in SSS, PhilHealth, and HDMF or Pag-IBIG.
